For those who are looking to get better at skiing or snowboarding or just want to learn a couple tricks, Axis has the right program for you. Axis Snow Camps are for kids and adults of all ages from beginner to advanced. The Axis Snowboarding program runs on Saturdays through January and February. Camp includes bus transportation from Axis Freestyle Academy to Mount St Louis Moonstone, home of the best snow conditions in Ontario.
Our program runs for 8 weeks as skills are learned and mastered over time, not overnight. During the 8-week program, campers are divided based on ability first, age second. Keeping you in smaller groups will ensure everyone has time for direction and coaching. We prefer to keep campers with the same coach to build a strong relationship.
Campers are coached and supervised the entire day. When riders are attempting something they are uncomfortable with, the risk of injury can be greater, we employ a practice without pressure philosophy. Everyone learns at their own pace, coaches can provide an alternative that does not pressure campers to do something they are uncomfortable with. Coaches use safer learning alternatives and provide different training options in order to build confidence and help you or your child achieve goals.
Bus transportation is included in the costs. Buses will be leaving for Mount St. Louis from Axis Freestyle Academy.
Multi-child discount of 5% per child if you register more than one camper
Axis Snowboard Camps are open to riders of all ages and skill, from those just beginning to advanced riders. Coaches and staff provide full supervision and work together to ensure a fun, positive and safe atmosphere catered to the progression of snowboarding. No matter the level or style of riding, it all comes down to effectively knowing how to use your heel and toe edges, at the same time developing the right technique, balance and board control. Campers will go over equipment set up, understanding the different components to ensure everything fits well. Slope etiquette and understanding the flow of the ski hill to reduce the risk of accidents.
For the more advanced rider, we will show you the steps to safely learning the basics of the terrain park and to fine tune those more technical skills.
Aim by visualizing the skill in your mind.
Focus on the components and details.
Achieve through practice and repetition.
